The natural beauty of California and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water have people coming here. The put-in location is a short drive from Red Bluff, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way there are lots of good rivers for that around here. The beautiful Northern Sierra Nevada scenery is an added bonus. A stretch of this length does require some preparations,
so make sure you pack enough food along with your camping gear. The Highway 32 to Route 99 section of Deer Creek in Tehama County is 43 miles long and is a class IV-V section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just hanging
out with mother nature will make you glad you came. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. The average California whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master than those in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that rivers here are not as easy as elsewhere. There are no other stretches to paddle along Deer Creek than the Highway 32 to Route 99 stretch.

Creek is a relatively common spot; January is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest month is July. Dillion Cove is a pleasant spot to have a look at nearby, and you can have a great hiking adventure along the Old Lassen Trail. For the period of the months of summer,
highs commonly are in the 90's at Deer Creek. For the duration of the dark hours of summer temperatures plunge down into the 60's. For the period of the winter highs are in the 50's, and nighttime lows in the 30's for Deer Creek. Whohoo, so much cool stuff in one place! The Northern Sierra Nevada is excellent! Going for a hike along the Graham Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this neighborhood.
