  The Dinkey Dome to Dinkey Campgrounds stretch of Dinkey Creek in California is 3.5 miles long and has been rated as a class V section by American Whitewater. The average California whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be harder to run than those in other states, so keep in mind that many of the sections here are not safe for beginners. The Dinkey Dome to Dinkey Campgrounds section is one of many paddling sections in this river system. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill
    up quick. The wonderful California scenery and the water flowing gracefully down Dinkey Creek make the trip here worthwhile. This is a pretty short section so you'll have to walk back to the start over and over. The river winds through the Central Sierra Nevada and you get great
scenery. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking in this general area you'll find lots of paddling places. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. A bit of exercise and spending some quality time in nature have a lot of people coming here.

The warmest time of the year at Dinkey Creek comes with high temperatures in the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures fall down into the 40's. All through the wintertime this place gets highs in the 40's; through the dark hours in the wintertime at Dinkey Creek temperatures
 
fall to the 20's. Going for a hike on the Red Mountain Trail is always a great adventure.
The annual rainfall here at Dinkey Creek is about average; the month of January is the wettest with most of the rain while July is frequently the driest month.
