This section is quite short so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. There are so many sections to paddle in this river system, the Dinkey Dome to Dinkey Campgrounds section is just one of many. Throughout the summer months at Dinkey Creek temperatures are usually in the 70's. All through the moonlight hours it's regularly in the 40's. The cold
 
days of the wintertime come with highs in the 40's; through the dark hours in the wintertime at Dinkey Creek temperatures descend to the 20's. Going for a hike on the Red Mountain Trail is always a pleasant adventure.
