  The wonderful Fresno County scenery and the cool fresh water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. The sections for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in California are often more challenging than in other states, so don't forget that quite a few of the sections here are not easy. The river winds through the Central Sierra Nevada and you get great scenery. This stretch is short so no need to bring snacks. This section of Dinkey Creek in Fresno County is 3.5 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class V section of whitewater.
    The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you'll find a large number of good spots. Getting a good workout and a chance to spend some
time outdoors are great attractions for lots of people. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. There are plenty of other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well.

Briefly about the general area:
Summer at Dinkey Creek comes with high temperatures in the 70's. Through the dark hours of summer temperatures sink down into the 40's. For the period of the wintertime the highs are mostly in the 40's, and overnight lows in the 20's for Dinkey Creek. Dinkey Creek is right by the Red Mountain Trail.
