Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in California are harder than the national norm, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that quite a few of the sections here are not easy. This stretch of Dinkey Creek in California is 5 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class IV-V section. There's camping available near Dinkey Creek. The Central Sierra Nevada scenery is wonderful. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination.
There are plenty of other stretches in this river system that can be paddled as well. On this section you do get some distance, suitable for an afternoon trip. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this is an area with plenty
of rivers for that. A bit of exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors have people coming from far and near. The wonderful Fresno County scenery and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream make the trip here worthwhile.
