CLASS IV-V 5 miles
Whitewater rafting and kayaking in California is often tougher than elsewhere, so you'd better keep in mind that many of the rivers here are not very forgiving. This section of Dinkey Creek is 5 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class IV-V section. This is not the only paddling section in this river system, there are others too. The campgrounds here at Dinkey Creek are pretty good. The Central Sierra Nevada scenery is wonderful. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, there are lots of good spots for
that around here. Getting your paddling muscles activated and spending some quality time in nature are great reasons to come. The natural beauty of Fresno County and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water make the trip here worthwhile. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but
if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. This is a pretty decent length section, it's perfect for a one day trip.
