Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in California tend to be more challenging than the national average, so better not forget that rivers here are less forgiving. The natural beauty of California and the playfulness of the water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill
up quick. This section of Eel River in California is 5.7 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class III-IV section. A good workout and just being out on the river for a while are sure to keep you coming back for more. This stretch is mid length, good
for a one day paddling trip. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this is an area with plenty of places for that. There are plenty of other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. The wild scenery of the Coast Ranges is great.
