No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you'll find a large number of good rivers. Getting some good exercise and just being out on the river for a while have people coming from far and near. There are plenty of other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well. The average California whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be harder to run than those in other states, so     you'd better keep in mind that lots of rivers here are not for beginners. The Hulls Creek to Mina Road stretch of Eel River - North Fork in Trinity/ Mendocino County is 8 miles long and is a class III section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. This is a pretty decent length section, good for a one day paddling trip. The Coast Ranges scenery is wonderful. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. Briefly about the general area: Summertime highs at Eel River - North Fork regularly tend to be in the 80's, and throughout the night it cools down to the 50's. The winter comes with highs in the 40's; after the sun is down through the   winter temperatures at Eel River - North Fork sink into the 30's. Eel River - North Fork gets a large amount of water; December is when you get the most rain here, and July meanwhile is the driest month. Whohoo, so much exciting stuff in one place! Good hiking is available along the Ben Duncan Mailbox Trail, and a spree to Willow Spring will fill your spirit with pleasant feelings.
