The wonderful California scenery and the cool fresh water attract people from near and far. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often tougher than in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that the rivers in this state are less manageable. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. This stretch is mid length, it's perfect for a one day trip. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a large number of paddling
places. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. A good workout and just hanging out with mother nature have a lot of people coming here. There are no other sections to paddle along Elk Creek than the Elk Creek Road to Klamath River section. The beautiful

Briefly about the general area: High temperatures at Elk Creek during the warm months are in the 80's. Once the sun is down it descends down to the 40's. Daytime highs through the wintertime are in the 40's, and after the sun is down during the wintertime temperatures at Elk Creek sink into the 30's. Elk Creek gets a great deal of water; the month with most of the rain is December, and July meanwhile is the driest month.
