The put-in location is a short drive from San Diego-Carlsbad-San Marcos, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. The natural beauty of California and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream attract people from near and far. This stretch has has enough mileage, suitable for an afternoon trip. There are     campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. The average California whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master than those in other states, so you'd better keep in mind that quite a few of the sections here are not easy. This is the only paddling stretch along Escondido Creek. There are some good hotels near the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Getting some good exercise and just hanging out with mother nature have a lot of people coming here.
