There are so many sections to paddle in this river system, the Sloat to Nelson Point section is just one of many. The wild scenery of the Northern Sierra Nevada is great. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good places for that     around here. The Sloat to Nelson Point section of Feather River - Middle Fork is 6.5 miles long and is a class II-III section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside California you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so better not forget that many of the rivers here are not very forgiving. This stretch is mid length, it's perfect for a one day trip. Great exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors have people coming from far and near.
