Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way there are lots of good rivers for that around here.
The wild scenery of the Northern Sierra Nevada is great. This section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle, you can easily run it on an afternoon. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river
if you want to stay the night, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Getting a good workout and spending some quality time in nature are sure to keep you coming back for more. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in California tend to be more challenging than the national average, so if you're not from around here don't forget that quite a few of the sections here are not easy. There are plenty of other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well.
