The natural beauty of Plumas/ Butte County and the water flowing gracefully down Feather River - Middle Fork beats anything. The campgrounds here at Feather River - Middle Fork are pretty good. On this section you do get some distance, you can easily run it on an afternoon. The Milsap Bridge to Lake Oroville section of Feather River - Middle Fork in Plumas/ Butte County is 6.5 miles long and is a class     V+ section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. A good workout and just hanging out with mother nature will make you glad you came. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. The river winds through the Northern Sierra Nevada and you get great scenery. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this is an area with plenty of spots for that. The Milsap Bridge to Lake Oroville section is one of many paddling sections in this river system. The put-in location is a short drive from Chico, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. Briefly about the general area: The high level of rain makes Feather River - Middle Fork a quite wet place; most of the rain falls   all through January; the driest month of the year is July. Summertime at Feather River - Middle Fork arrives with high temperatures in the 80's, and through the night it cools down to the 50's. High temperatures through the winter are normally in the 50's while the cold winter nights at Feather River - Middle Fork are in the 30's. A short spree to Feather Falls is always worthwhile; American Bar is a pleasant location to visit.
