The Poe Dam to Poe Powerhouse section of Feather River - North Fork in California is 7.5 miles long and has been rated as a class IV-V section by American Whitewater. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often tougher than in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that rivers here are less forgiving. This stretch has has enough mileage, it's good length for a morning trip. The nature scenery of California and the cool fresh water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. When you're paddling down a Northern Sierra Nevada river like this one you always get great scenery along the way too. Great exercise and just being out on the river for a while are great reasons to come.
