The Virgilia to Belden section of Feather River - North Fork in Plumas County is 10 miles long and is a class III-V section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The wonderful Plumas County scenery and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water make the trip here worthwhile. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just hanging out with mother nature will make     you glad you came. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. There are plenty of other stretches in this river system that can be paddled as well. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. If you hurry you can run this stretch in a day but why not make it an overnighter, so why not pack your camp stove too. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this is an area with plenty of spots for that. The beautiful Northern Sierra Nevada scenery is an added bonus. Briefly about the general area: Summertime brings highs in the 80's to Feather River - North Fork. Through the dark hours of summer temperatures dip down into the 40's. Through the winter highs are regularly in the 40's; nighttime lows at Feather River -   North Fork throughout the winter typically fall into the 10's.
