If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so you'd better keep in mind that lots of rivers here are not for beginners. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. This river system has a few good paddling sections and the Road 415 to     boat ramp Close to dam at Lake Hensley section is one of them. This stretch is long enough for an overnight trip if you take your time, so why not pack your camp stove too. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way in this general area you'll find lots of paddling places. A good workout and just hanging out with mother nature are great attractions for lots of people. Briefly about the general area: Summertime brings highs in the 80's to Fresno River, and the overnight is somewhat cooler of course, typically in the 50's. During the wintertime this place gets highs in the 40's with temperatures at Fresno River dipping down into the 20's through winter   nights. Don't leave Fresno River without first paying a visit to Pecan Spring, and Fresno River is a location with many visitors from Madera. Fresno River gets a normal amount of rain; of all the months in a year January is the one with the most rain, and July on the other hand is the driest.
