The put-in is not too far from Crescent City North, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in this state tend to be more challenging than the national average, so keep in mind that rivers here are less forgiving. The wonderful Del Norte County scenery and the water flowing gracefully down Goose Creek are reasons enough to come here and paddle. The wild scenery
of the Coast Ranges is great. A bit of exercise and just hanging out with mother nature have people coming from far and near. This section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle, suitable for an afternoon trip. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river
if you want to stay the night, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way there are lots of good places for that around here. There are no other stretches to paddle along Goose Creek than the Saddle Road to South Fork Smith confluence stretch.
