The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often tougher than in other states, so don't forget that rivers here are not as easy as elsewhere. The Grindstone Road to Road 306 section is the only paddling section along Grindstone Creek. There's camping available near Grindstone Creek. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. A good workout and     a chance to spend some time outdoors are great attractions for lots of people. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with plenty of spots for that. If you hurry you can run this stretch in a day but why not make it an overnighter, so why not pack your sleeping bag too. The river winds through the Klamath Mountains and you get great scenery. This section of Grindstone Creek is 12 miles long and it is classified as a class III-IV section by American Whitewater. Briefly about the general area: The beauty of mother nature reveals herself at Bearwallow Spring; a tour to Manzanita Spring will fill your spirit with great feelings. Throughout the long summer days highs here at Grindstone Creek reach the 90's, and the night is a bit colder of course, ordinarily in the 60's. The wintertime comes with highs in   the 50's while Grindstone Creek night low temperatures during the winter are in the 30's. Not much rain falls here at Grindstone Creek; the wettest month of the year is frequently January, that's the one that rains the most while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation. That right there is loads of fun stuff already but it goes on, the Klamath Mountains has it all.
