This stretch of Hurdygurdy Creek in California is 7.7 miles long and is a class V section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The sections for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in California are often more challenging than in other states, so if you're not from around here don't forget that many of the rivers here are not very forgiving. The beautiful Coast Ranges scenery is an added bonus. The wonderful California scenery and the water flowing gracefully down Hurdygurdy Creek are reasons enough to come here and paddle. from Crescent City North it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. A bit of exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors are sure to keep you coming back for more. Not too many
hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. On this section you do get some distance, it's perfect for a one day trip. This is the only paddling section along Hurdygurdy Creek. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this is an area with plenty of rivers for that. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby.

in the 60's. Once the sun is down it plunges down to the 50's. Throughout the wintertime highs are mostly in the 50's, and night lows during the wintertime for Hurdygurdy Creek tend to be in the 30's. Hurdygurdy Creek is a quite wet place commonly with lots of rainfall; through the month of December you get the most rain around here, and July is the month with the least moisture.
