The Middle South Fork confluence to Garnet Dike Campground stretch of Kings River in California is 10 miles long and has been rated as a class V section by American Whitewater. A good workout and spending some quality time in nature will have you coming back for more. There are plenty of other stretches in this river system that can be paddled as well. The river winds through the Central Sierra Nevada and you get great scenery.
You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. If you hurry you can run this stretch in a day but why not make it an overnighter, so pack your camping stuff. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a large number of paddling spots. There aren’t
any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in California tend to be more challenging than the national average, so keep in mind that rivers here are not as easy as elsewhere.
