county,
Garnet Dike Campground to Kirch Flat Campground section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.
CLASS III-IV 9.5 miles
This is a great place to paddle, specially in late spring. It slows down in the summer and gets very rocky but it's a fun run even then. Says Bob
The Garnet Dike Campground to Kirch Flat Campground stretch of Kings River in California is 9.5 miles long and is a class III-IV section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. A good workout and just hanging out with mother nature have people coming from far and near. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way around here you'll find a large number of good rivers. The average
whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master in this state than those in other states, so you'd better keep in mind that lots of rivers here are not for beginners. The river winds through the Central Sierra Nevada and you get great scenery. For all you
camping people there are campgrounds nearby. This section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle, it's perfect for a one day trip. The nature scenery of Fresno County and the playfulness of the water will make you feel great. This is not the only paddling stretch in this river system, there are others too. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car.
