Garnet Dike Campground to Kirch Flat Campground section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.
CLASS III-IV 9.5 miles
This is a great place to paddle, specially in late spring. It slows down in the summer and gets very rocky but it's a fun run even then. Says Bob
This stretch of Kings River in California is 9.5 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class III-IV section. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. On this section you do get some distance, suitable for an afternoon trip. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. Some people prefer whitewater rafting
and some kayaking, either way around here you'll find a large number of good rivers. The wonderful California scenery and the water flowing gracefully down Kings River make the trip here worthwhile. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just hanging out with mother nature
are great attractions for lots of people. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often tougher than in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that lots of rivers here are not for beginners. The Garnet Dike Campground to Kirch Flat Campground section is one of many paddling sections in this river system. The beautiful Central Sierra Nevada scenery is an added bonus.
