The nature scenery of California and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream make the trip here worthwhile. The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Fresno, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside California you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so don't forget that rivers here are less forgiving. The Pine Flat Dam to Centerville section is one of many paddling sections in this river system. Getting your paddling muscles activated and
just hanging out with mother nature will make you glad you came. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, in this general area you'll find lots of paddling spots. There's camping available near Kings River. The nearby hotels are a bit away from
the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. If you have the time you can make this a two day trip, so why not pack your sleeping bag too. When you're paddling down a Central Sierra Nevada river like this one you always get great scenery along the way too. This section of Kings River in Fresno County is 12 miles long and is a class I-II section of whitewater according to American Whitewater.

Kings River; of all the months in a year March is the one with the most rain, and the driest month of the year is July. During the months of summer highs here at Kings River get into the 90's, and throughout summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. High temperatures through the wintertime are normally in the 50's, and nighttime lows at Kings River all through the winter ordinarily dip into the 30's.
