If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so better not forget that the rivers in this state are less manageable. This river system     is full of great paddling stretches, the Pine Flat Dam to Centerville stretch is just one of them. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a large number of paddling rivers. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. If you hurry you can run this stretch in a day but why not make it an overnighter, so pack your sleeping bag. When you're paddling down a Central Sierra Nevada river like this one you always get great scenery along the way too. The Pine Flat Dam to Centerville section of Kings River in Fresno County is 12 miles long and is a class I-II section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. It is very dried out here at Kings River commonly; the month with most of the rain is March while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
