The wonderful Fresno County scenery and the cool fresh water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. The sections for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in California are often more challenging than in other states, so better not forget that a lot of the rivers here are not suitable for beginners. Getting a good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors have a lot of people coming here. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. The Above Wishon Reservoir section of Kings River - Middle Fork is 6 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater
as a class IV-V section. This stretch is mid length, good for a one day paddling trip. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this area has a large number of paddling places. Whitewater paddling here in the Central Sierra Nevada is a great experience.
