CLASS II 22 miles
The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in California are often tougher than in other states, so you'd better keep in mind that rivers here are not as easy as elsewhere. The natural beauty of Siskiyou County and the water flowing gracefully down Klamath River have people coming here. This river system is full of great paddling stretches, the Coon Creek to Ishi Pishi Falls stretch is just one of them. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, there are lots of good rivers for that around here. The beautiful
Klamath Mountains scenery is an added bonus. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Getting a good workout
and spending some quality time in nature are great reasons to come. This stretch is long enough for an overnight trip if you take your time, so go ahead and pack your sleeping bag. The Coon Creek to Ishi Pishi Falls section of Klamath River is 22 miles long and has been rated as a class II section by American Whitewater.
