Humboldt
county,
Ishi Pishi Bridge to Orleans section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.
CLASS III-V 8 miles
This stretch of Klamath River is 8 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class III-V section of whitewater. Whitewater paddling here in the Coast Ranges is a great experience. This is not the only paddling stretch in this river system, there are others too. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. The beautiful scenery of California and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream are in themselves reasons enough
to come here to paddle. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in California tend to be more challenging than the national average, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that many of the sections here are not safe for beginners. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby
campground. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good places for that around here. Great exercise and spending some quality time in nature have people coming from far and near. This is a pretty decent length section, good for a one day paddling trip.
