The beautiful scenery of Humboldt County and the cool fresh water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in California is often more difficult than elsewhere, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that the rivers in this state are less manageable. There are so many stretches to paddle in this river system, the Ishi Pishi Bridge to Orleans stretch is just one of many. Not too     many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this is an area with plenty of places for that. The campgrounds here at Klamath River are pretty good. The wild scenery of the Coast Ranges is great. This is a pretty decent length section, it's perfect for a one day trip. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just being out on the river for a while will make you glad you came. Briefly about the general area: For the duration of the summer months, highs commonly are in the 90's at Klamath River. Through the dark hours of summer temperatures plunge down into the 50's. Highs through the winter are usually in the 50's while the cold winter nights at Klamath   River are in the 30's. Much rain falls at Klamath River; during December this area sees the most rain, and the driest month is July. Since you're here at Klamath River why not take a look at Sawmill Gulch.
