This stretch of Klamath River is 36 miles long and it is classified as a class II section by American Whitewater. The put-in location is a short drive from Crescent City North, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in California is often more difficult than elsewhere, so don't forget that many of the rivers here are not very forgiving. There's camping available near Klamath River. A bit of exercise and just hanging out with mother nature have people coming from far and near.
This is not the only paddling stretch in this river system, there are others too. The nature scenery of California and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream will make you feel great. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking,
either way this is an area with plenty of spots for that. A stretch this long is of course too much for a one day trip, perfect for a real wilderness adventure. The river winds through the Coast Ranges and you get great scenery. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick.

the one that rains the most, and the driest month of the year is July. Through the days of summer, highs frequently are in the 60's at Klamath River. Summer night lows sink down to the 50's. High temperatures during the wintertime are normally in the 50's, and after the sun is down through the winter temperatures at Klamath River descend into the 30's.
