The natural beauty of Sierra County and the cool fresh water attract people from near and far. The put-in location is a short drive from Truckee-Grass Valley, as you can see on the road map further down. The 2nd Divide Bridge to Downieville section of Lavezzola Creek is 4 miles long and is a class IV(V) section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. This section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle, you can easily run it on an afternoon. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. This is the only paddling
section along Lavezzola Creek. A bit of exercise and spending some quality time in nature will make you glad you came. The beauty of the Northern Sierra Nevada is a great plus for this river. The average California whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to
master than those in other states, so you'd better keep in mind that rivers here are less forgiving. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way around here you'll find a large number of good spots. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick.

An average amount of rain falls at Lavezzola Creek; the wettest month of the year is generally January, that's the one that rains the most while July is regularly the driest month. The Third Divide Trail offers hiking at its best, and First Divide is also a fine spot to explore.
