The starting point is not too far from Clearlake, as you can see on the road map further down. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. Getting some good exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors will make you glad you came. This stretch of Little Sulphur Creek in California is 11 miles long and has been rated as a class IV-V+ section by American Whitewater. The nature scenery     of California and the cool fresh water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a pretty small number of paddling rivers. If you have the time you can make this a two day trip, so why not pack your camp stove too. The wild scenery of the Coast Ranges is great. No shortage of good hotels, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. The Healdsburg-Geyserville Road to Big Sulphur Creek section is the only paddling section along Little Sulphur Creek. Briefly about the general area: Little Sulphur Creek usually gets a good deal of rainfall; the month of January is the wettest with most of the rain while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Through the summer at Little Sulphur Creek highs are mostly in the   90's, and the overnight is a tad colder of course, typically in the 50's. Highs during the wintertime are commonly in the 50's, and throughout the dark hours in the wintertime at Little Sulphur Creek temperatures plunge to the 30's.
