The put-in location is a short drive from Clearlake, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. The beautiful scenery of California and the cool fresh water beats anything. The average California whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be harder to run than those in other states, so keep in mind that lots of rivers here are not for beginners. This stretch is long enough for an overnight     trip if you take your time, so pack your camping stuff. A good workout and just being out on the river for a while are great attractions for lots of people. Whitewater paddling here in the Coast Ranges is a great experience. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are not so many other good spots for that around here. Little Sulphur Creek doesn't have a lot of paddling sections, the Healdsburg-Geyserville Road to Big Sulphur Creek section is the only one. There are many good hotels to choose from, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. Briefly about the general area: The high level of rain makes Little Sulphur Creek a pretty wet location; the wettest month of the year is usually January, that's the one that rains the most, and   July meanwhile is the driest month. The wintertime comes with highs in the 50's, and night lows at Little Sulphur Creek through the winter regularly sink into the 30's.
