This stretch of Los Penasquitos Creek is 9 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class III+(V+) section. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in California tend to be more challenging than the national average, so better not forget that rivers here are not as easy as elsewhere. This section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle, you can easily run it on an afternoon. There are plenty     of hotels here if you want to spend a night, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. The I-15 to I-5 stretch is the only paddling stretch along Los Penasquitos Creek. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this area has a pretty small number of paddling rivers. Getting a good workout and spending some quality time in nature will make you glad you came.
