The starting point is not too far from Phoenix Lake-Cedar Ridge, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. The Central Sierra Nevada scenery is wonderful. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state is often more difficult than elsewhere, so if you're not from around here don't forget that many of the rivers here are not very forgiving. The Greeley Hill Road     to Merced confluence stretch is one of many paddling stretches in this river system.
