The beautiful scenery of California and the water flowing gracefully down Mill Creek attract people from near and far. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in this state tend to be more challenging than the national average, so better not forget that rivers here are less forgiving. Getting some good exercise and just being out on the river for a while are great reasons to come. There aren’t any hotels right

way there are lots of good spots for that around here. This is one of a small number of paddling stretches in this river system, there are a few others too. When you're paddling down a Central Sierra Nevada river like this one you always get great scenery along the way too. This section of Mill Creek in California is 6 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class V section. This section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle, suitable for an afternoon trip.
Briefly about the general area: Mill Creek is mostly a reasonably
arid site; the month of January is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest month is July. For the period of the warm months at Mill Creek temperatures are commonly in the 90's, and during the night it cools down to the 60's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 50's with temperatures at Mill Creek dipping down into the 30's throughout winter nights.
