This section of Mill Creek in Tehama County is 43 miles long and it is classified as a class IV-V+ section by American Whitewater. The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Red Bluff, as you can see on the road map further down. A stretch of this length does require some preparations, so better bring your camping gear along. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in California is often more difficult than elsewhere, so better not forget that many of the sections here are not safe for beginners. The wild scenery of the Northern Sierra Nevada is great.
You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, around here you'll find a large number of good rivers. The natural beauty of California and the water flowing gracefully down Mill Creek are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. For all you
camping people there are campgrounds nearby. Great exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors are sure to keep you coming back for more. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. The Town of Mill Creek to First Diversion Dam section is the only paddling section along Mill Creek.

beauty of this region. This river is so perfect. You are near Long Point while you're here at Mill Creek; if you're here you can take a hike along the Graham Trail. Summertime highs at Mill Creek usually tend to be in the 90's. Once the sun is down it drops down to the 60's. Throughout the wintertime the highs are generally in the 50's; nighttime lows in the 30's for Mill Creek.
