If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside California you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so if you're not from around here don't forget that lots of rivers here are not for beginners. There are some good sections to paddle in this river system, the Ponderosa Way to Highway 49 Bridge section is one of them. for a while are great attractions for lots of people. The Northern Sierra Nevada scenery is wonderful. The campgrounds here at Mokelumne River are pretty good. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with plenty of places for that.
