The St. Helena to Napa section of Napa River is 18 miles long and it is classified as a class III section by American Whitewater. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in California tend to be more challenging than the national average, so keep in mind that rivers here are less forgiving. If you have the time you can make this a two day trip, so pack your camp stove. There's camping available near Napa River. There are some
    good hotels near the river, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. Getting some good exercise and just hanging out with mother nature will have you coming back for more. The beautiful scenery of California and the water flowing gracefully down
Napa River are reasons enough to come here and paddle. Napa River doesn't have a lot of paddling sections, the St. Helena to Napa section is the only one.

If you're popping by Napa River from Napa, you won't be the only one; the Yountville Hills towers over Napa River. All the water falling down from the sky makes Napa River a wet place; throughout the month of January you get the most rain around here, and the driest month is July.
