Says Bryan Poli The St. Helena to Napa stretch of Napa River in California is 18 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class III section of whitewater. The scenic beauty of Napa County and the playfulness of the water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. You can enjoy this stretch more if you take your time, so pack your     camping stuff. The starting point is not too far from Napa, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking in this general area you won't find many other paddling rivers. There are nice comfortable hotels here, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. There are no other stretches to paddle along Napa River than the St. Helena to Napa stretch. Great exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors are sure to keep you coming back for more. Briefly about the general area: While you're here at Napa River you will meet lots of folks from close by Napa; the Yountville Hills is a major trait of the neighborhood close by. Much rainfall falls at Napa River; the wettest   month of the year is usually January, that's the one that rains the most, and July meanwhile is the driest month. Summertime highs at Napa River typically tend to be in the 90's, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. During the winter this place gets highs in the 50's while Napa River nighttime low temperatures during the wintertime are in the 20's.
