The wonderful California scenery and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream make the trip here worthwhile. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state is often more difficult than elsewhere, so you'd better keep in mind that rivers here are less forgiving. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this is an area with not too many other spots for that. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. The starting location is a reasonable drive from Napa, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map
further down the page. There are plenty of hotels here if you want to spend a night, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. Napa River doesn't have a lot of paddling sections, the St. Helena to Napa section is the only one. If you have the time
