Trinity
county,
E Fork confluence to Trinity River section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.
CLASS III-V 19.8 miles
The E Fork confluence to Trinity River section of New River is 19.8 miles long and is a class III-V section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The Coast Ranges scenery is wonderful. If you hurry you can run this section in a day but why not make it an overnighter, so go ahead and pack your camp stove. The average California whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be harder to run than those in other states, so keep in mind that many of the sections here are not safe for beginners. The natural beauty of California and the playfulness
of the water attract people from near and far. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, in this general area you'll find lots of paddling spots. New River doesn't have a lot of paddling stretches, the E Fork confluence to Trinity River stretch
is the only one. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. Great exercise and just being out on the river for a while are great reasons to come.
