Mendocino county, Northspur to Fort Bragg section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.

CLASS II-III     20 miles
The Northspur to Fort Bragg section of Noyo River is 20 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class II-III section. The beautiful scenery of California and the water flowing gracefully down Noyo River attract people from near and far. You can enjoy this section more if you take your time, so pack your camping stuff. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. The starting point is not too far from Ukiah, as you can see on the road
map further down. The Northspur to Fort Bragg stretch is the only paddling stretch along Noyo River. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, in this general area you won't find many other paddling spots. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking
outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that the rivers in this state are less manageable. When you're paddling down a Coast Ranges river like this one you always get great scenery along the way too. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. A bit of exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors are sure to keep you coming back for more.
