The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often tougher than in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that a lot of the rivers here are not suitable for beginners. The put-in is not too far from Ukiah, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. The Highway 101 bridge to Highway 162 section of Outlet Creek in California is 12.2 miles long and it is classified as a class II-III section by American Whitewater. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. The beautiful Coast Ranges
scenery is an added bonus. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. The Highway 101 bridge to Highway 162 section is the only paddling section along Outlet Creek. You might
be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, in this general area you'll find lots of paddling spots. Getting a good workout and just hanging out with mother nature are great reasons to come. The beautiful scenery of California and the water flowing gracefully down Outlet Creek attract people from near and far. This section is long enough for an overnight trip if you take your time, so why not pack your camp stove too.
