The nature scenery of California and the cool fresh water have people coming here. If you're coming from Ukiah it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. This stretch is long enough for an overnight trip if you take your time, so why not pack your sleeping bag too. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay     the night, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. There's camping available near Outlet Creek. A good workout and just being out on the river for a while have a lot of people coming here. The beauty of the Coast Ranges is a great plus for this river. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in California are harder than the national norm, so if you're not from around here don't forget that many runs in this state are not easy. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this is an area with plenty of places for that. This is the only paddling stretch along Outlet Creek. Briefly about the general area: At Outlet Creek during the summertime highs are in the 60's, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. For the duration of the   winter this place gets highs in the 50's while Outlet Creek overnight low temperatures during the winter are in the 40's. Outlet Creek gets a great deal of water; the month of January is the wettest with most of the rain, and July on the other hand is the driest. Nearby Reeves Canyon is a nice place to go if you're at Outlet Creek.
