The Fall River Mills Bridge to Route 299 Bridge stretch of Pit River is 10 miles long and has been rated as a class IV-V section by American Whitewater. When you're paddling down a Southern Cascade Range river like this one you always get great scenery along
    the way too. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. There are so many stretches to paddle in this river system, the Fall River Mills Bridge to Route 299 Bridge stretch is just
one of many. If you have the time you can make this a two day trip, so pack your sleeping bag. There's camping available near Pit River. The wonderful California scenery and the cool fresh water attract people from near and far. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this is an area with not too many other rivers for that.
