The average whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master in this state than those in other states, so better not forget that lots of rivers here are not for beginners. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. If you have the time you can make this a two day trip, so     pack your camp stove. This section of Pit River in California is 24 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class IV-V section of whitewater. Great exercise and just hanging out with mother nature have people coming from far and near. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. The beautiful Southern Cascade Range scenery is an added bonus. The Nubieber to Pittville section is one of a few paddling sections in this river system.
