If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside California you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that a lot of the rivers here are not suitable for beginners. The Highway 29 to Lake Berryessa stretch of Putah Creek in California is 16 miles long and has been rated as a class IV-V section by American Whitewater. The scenic beauty of Lake/ Napa County and the cool fresh water will
make you feel great. The put-in is not too far from Napa, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. This is the only paddling section along Putah Creek. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem and
if you make reservations in advance you're all set. The campgrounds here at Putah Creek are pretty good. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way around here you won't find a large number of other rivers. Getting your paddling muscles activated and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great attractions for lots of people.

at Putah Creek reach the 90's. Summer night lows sink down to the 50's. Highs during the winter are generally in the 50's, and overnight lows at Putah Creek during the winter typically descend into the 20's. Putah Creek gets a normal amount of yearly precipitation; January is the month that gets the most rain while July is commonly the driest month.
