  This stretch of Rattlesnake Creek in Mendocino County is 5 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class V section. The nature scenery of Mendocino County and the playfulness of the water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. The put-in location is a short drive from Ukiah, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. The beautiful Coast Ranges scenery is an added bonus. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular
    destination. Great exercise and just hanging out with mother nature have a lot of people coming here. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking in this general area you'll find lots of paddling rivers. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. This stretch
is mid length, you can easily run it on an afternoon. This is the only paddling stretch along Rattlesnake Creek. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in California is often more difficult than elsewhere, so if you're not from around here don't forget that many of the rivers here are not very forgiving.
