This stretch of Redwood Creek in California is 5.4 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class II section. The put-in is not too far from Eureka-Arcata-Fortuna, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. The wonderful California scenery and the cool fresh water beats anything. This is a pretty decent length section, good for a one day paddling trip. Getting a good workout and just being out on the river for a while have people coming from far and near. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're
willing to drive a short distance then no problem but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. There are a few other stretches in this river system that can be paddled as well.
Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way in this general area you'll find lots of paddling spots. The beautiful Coast Ranges scenery is an added bonus. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so you'd better keep in mind that the rivers in this state are less manageable.

of precipitation falls at Redwood Creek; the wettest month of the year is usually December, that's the one that rains the most, and the driest month of the year is July. Through the warm days of summer highs here at Redwood Creek reach the 70's with night lows in the 40's.
Daytime highs during the winter are in the 50's; overnight lows in the 30's for Redwood Creek. Interesting geology is available here; Princess Rock is in close proximity to Redwood Creek, and taking a little spree to nearby Circle Point is a delightful idea.
