If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so better not forget that lots of rivers here are not for beginners. The starting point is not too far from Eureka-Arcata-Fortuna, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. The beautiful scenery of Humboldt County and the water flowing gracefully down Redwood Creek have people coming here. On this section you do get some distance, it's perfect for a one day trip. This section of Redwood Creek is 5.4
miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class II section. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater
rafting or kayaking, either way in this general area you'll find lots of paddling rivers. Getting some good exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors are sure to keep you coming back for more. The beauty of the Coast Ranges is a great plus for this river. The Highway 299 to Bair Road section is one of a few paddling sections in this river system. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby.

of course, regularly in the 40's. During the winter highs are in the 50's; overnight lows in the 30's for Redwood Creek. Princess Rock is a brilliant spot to stop by while in the neighborhood, and a trip to close by Circle Point is very relaxing. Redwood Creek is a pretty wet
place typically with lots of rainfall; the month with most of the rain is December, and the driest of the months is July. There's no way somebody can get bored here in the Coast Ranges.
