The streaming Rubicon River just northeast of Eleven Pines Road. The river serves as a border between Placer and El Dorado counties, and offers challenging whitewater rafting opportunities for experienced paddlers. This is a woodland area approximately 15 miles south of the Hell Hole Reservoir. This is a truly memorable area to spend the day hiking and exploring the area’s lush vegetation and small waterfalls. The nature

this stretch more if you take your time, so why not pack your camp stove too. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good rivers for that around here. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Getting a good workout and just being out on the river for a while have people coming from far and near. The river winds through the Northern Sierra Nevada and you get great scenery. The Ellicott

here don't forget that the rivers in this state are less manageable. Rubicon River doesn't have a lot of paddling stretches, the Ellicott Bridge to Ralston Afterbay stretch is the only one.
Briefly about the general area: Wallace Spring is an inspiring spot to have a
look at while here; great hiking is available along the Pigeon Roost Trail. This is such a wonderful river. There's fine hiking along the Grizzly Canyon Trail. All the water falling down from the sky makes Rubicon River a wet spot; the wettest month of the year is regularly January,
that's the one that rains the most while July is frequently the driest month. Yep, outdoors exciting stuff truly is abundant here in the Northern Sierra Nevada. Don't leave Rubicon River without first paying a visit to Pine Tree Spring, and if you would like a little side visit,
try Wallace Canyon. Through the months of summer highs here at Rubicon River reach the 90's. Summer night lows sink down to the 60's. Throughout the winter highs are generally in the 50's while Rubicon River overnight low temperatures through the winter are in the 30's.
