Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in California tend to be more challenging than the national average, so keep in mind that many of the rivers here are not very forgiving. On this section     you do get some distance, you can easily run it on an afternoon. The nature scenery of California and the water flowing gracefully down Russian River are reasons enough to come here and paddle. Great exercise and just being out on the river for a while are sure to keep you coming back for more. There are some good hotels near the river, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. There are some good stretches to paddle in this river system, the Pieta Creek to 101 Bridge stretch is one of them. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this is an area with plenty of rivers for that. Whitewater paddling here in the Coast Ranges is a great experience.
