Whitewater rafting and kayaking in California is often more difficult than elsewhere, so you'd better keep in mind that rivers here are not as easy as elsewhere. The scenic beauty of California and the water flowing gracefully down Salmon River - North Fork are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this is an area with plenty of rivers for that. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. A bit of exercise and just being out on the river for a while
have people coming from far and near. If you hurry you can run this stretch in a day but why not make it an overnighter, so why not pack your camping stuff too. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but do book a room
before you come because it is a very popular destination. This stretch of Salmon River - North Fork is 11 miles long and is a class III-V section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The Little North Fork to Forks of Salmon stretch is one of many paddling stretches in this river system. Whitewater paddling here in the Klamath Mountains is a great experience.
