  Whitewater rafting and kayaking in California is often more difficult than elsewhere, so you'd better keep in mind that rivers here are not as easy as elsewhere. The scenic beauty of California and the water flowing gracefully down Salmon River - North Fork are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this is an area with plenty of rivers for that. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. A bit of exercise and just being out on the river for a while
    have people coming from far and near. If you hurry you can run this stretch in a day but why not make it an overnighter, so why not pack your camping stuff too. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but do book a room
before you come because it is a very popular destination. This stretch of Salmon River - North Fork is 11 miles long and is a class III-V section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The Little North Fork to Forks of Salmon stretch is one of many paddling stretches in this river system. Whitewater paddling here in the Klamath Mountains is a great experience.

There are perfect places to look at along the Garden Gulch Trail; you could always discover Heiney Bar. For the period of the days of summer highs
 
here at Salmon River - North Fork reach the 90's, and the nighttime is fairly colder of course, mostly in the 50's. Highs all through the wintertime are generally in the 50's, and nighttime lows in the 30's for Salmon River - North Fork.
At this river you will never have a bad time. A great deal of rain falls at Salmon River - North Fork; December is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest month of the year is July. There's no way anyone can get bored here in the Klamath Mountains. Why not take a look at China Point also since you're here, and if you're addicted to cool geologic characteristics try Dougherty Bluff.
