The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often tougher than in other states, so keep in mind that rivers here are less forgiving. This section of San Antonio in California is 10.7 miles long and is a class II section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are not so many other good rivers for that around here. There are no other sections to paddle     along San Antonio than the Above and down to Mission San Antonio de Padua section. The Santa Lucia Range scenery is wonderful. This section has enough mileage for an overnight trip, so pack your sleeping bag. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. A bit of exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors have people coming from far and near. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Briefly about the general area: A fine place to go to in the neighborhood of San Antonio is China Gulch. Summer brings highs in the 80's to San Antonio while night lows are regularly in the 50's. Highs during the wintertime are usually in the 60's with winter lows in the 30's overnight   here at San Antonio.
