  This section of San Antonio in Monterey County is 10.7 miles long and has been rated as a class II section by American Whitewater. The scenic beauty of Monterey County and the water flowing gracefully down San Antonio are reasons enough to come here and paddle. There's camping available near San Antonio. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just being out on the river for a while will have you coming back for more. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but do book a room before you
    come because it is a very popular destination. This stretch has enough mileage for an overnight trip, so go ahead and pack your sleeping bag. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this is an area with not too many other places for that. The Above and
down to Mission San Antonio de Padua section is the only paddling section along San Antonio. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often tougher than in other states, so keep in mind that quite a few of the sections here are not easy. The wild scenery of the Santa Lucia Range is great.
