The Dam 6 reservoir to Reddinger Reservoir stretch of San Joaquin River in California is 8 miles long and it is classified as a class V section by American Whitewater. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. A good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors have a lot of people coming here. This stretch has has enough mileage,     it's good length for a morning trip. Whitewater paddling here in the Central Sierra Nevada is a great experience. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking in this general area you'll find lots of paddling places. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so you'd better keep in mind that many of the sections here are not safe for beginners. During the summer months at San Joaquin River highs are frequently in the 80's while night lows are regularly   in the 40's.
