The Devils Postpile Nat'l Monument to Mammoth Pool Reservoir section of San Joaquin River - Middle Fork in California is 32.5 miles long and it is classified as a class V+ section by American Whitewater. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a large number of paddling spots. If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more demanding, so you'd
    better keep in mind that many runs in this state are not easy. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. There are campgrounds quite near the river where
you can camp. The river winds through the Central Sierra Nevada and you get great scenery. A bit of exercise and spending some quality time in nature are sure to keep you coming back for more. A stretch this long is of course too much for a one day trip, so make sure you pack enough food along with your camping gear. The Devils Postpile Nat'l Monument to Mammoth Pool Reservoir stretch is one of many paddling stretches in this river system.

At San Joaquin River - Middle Fork during the days of summer highs are in the
 
90's. When the night sets in temperatures fall down into the 50's. Throughout the winter the highs are ordinarily in the 40's while San Joaquin River - Middle Fork overnight low temperatures through the winter are in the 20's. San Joaquin River - Middle Fork gets a normal amount of precipitation; most of the rain falls during January, and June on the other hand is the driest.
