  The nature scenery of Santa Cruz County and the cool fresh water will make you feel great. If you're coming from Santa Cruz-Watsonville it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. This section of San Lorenzo River in California is 9.1 miles long and has been rated as a class II section by American Whitewater. No need to look hard for hotels, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. On this section you do get some distance,
    it's perfect for a one day trip. The Boulder Creek to Felton section is one of a few paddling sections in this river system. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in California is often more difficult than elsewhere, so if you're not from around here don't forget that many of the sections
here are not safe for beginners. Getting a good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors will make you glad you came. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. When you're paddling down a Santa Cruz Mountains river like this one you always get great scenery along the way too. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking in this general area you won't find many other paddling places.

These mountains rock, just look at all the cool stuff to do in the Santa Cruz Mountains. Hubbard Gulch is right next
 
door to San Lorenzo River and is a magnificent place, and don't leave San Lorenzo River without first going for a hike along the Rincon Fire Road Trail.
All the water falling down from the sky makes San Lorenzo River a wet location; during the month of January you get the most rain around here; July meanwhile is the driest month. Summer at San Lorenzo River comes with high temperatures in the 70's while overnight lows are typically in the 50's. For the period of the winter highs are in the 50's; night lows throughout the winter for San Lorenzo River tend to be in the 30's.
