  The Boulder Creek to Felton stretch of San Lorenzo River in California is 9.1 miles long and is a class II section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. If you're coming from Santa Cruz-Watsonville it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, as you can see on the road map further down. The average whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master in this state than those in other states, so better
    not forget that many of the rivers here are not very forgiving. A bit of exercise and just hanging out with mother nature are great attractions for lots of people. The nature scenery of Santa Cruz County and the cool fresh
water make the trip here worthwhile. There are some good stretches to paddle in this river system, the Boulder Creek to Felton stretch is one of them. The beauty of the Santa Cruz Mountains is a great plus for this river. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a pretty small number of paddling places. Lodging is available near the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination.  
This stretch has has enough mileage, suitable for an afternoon trip. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby.

Briefly about the general area:
Have a delightful hiking adventure along the Rincon Fire Road Trail, and on a fine day it's a great idea to spend the day at Four Mile Beach. Be careful coming to the Santa Cruz Mountains, you might not ever wanna go home again. Nearby Hubbard Gulch is a perfect place to go if you're at San Lorenzo River, and going for a hike along the Summit Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this neighborhood. Lots of fun awaits you along this river.
