Siskiyou
county,
Highway 263 bridge to Klamath River section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.
CLASS III 6.8 miles
This stretch of Shasta River in California is 6.8 miles long and has been rated as a class III section by American Whitewater. The nature scenery of California and the cool fresh water make the trip here worthwhile. Whitewater paddling here in the Siskiyou Mountains is a great experience. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with not too many other spots for that. No shortage of good hotels, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. The Highway 263 bridge to Klamath River stretch is the
only paddling stretch along Shasta River. The average whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master in this state than those in other states, so if you're not from around here don't forget that the rivers in this state are less manageable. If you're a
camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. This section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle, you can easily run it on an afternoon. Great exercise and just being out on the river for a while will make you glad you came.

River without first paying a visit to Iron Trough Spring. So many exciting things to do here in the Siskiyou Mountains, too great to be true. Silvas Spring is an inspiring site to check out while here.
