This stretch of Silver Creek - South Fork in El Dorado County is 2 miles long and is a class V+ section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, in this general area you'll find lots of paddling rivers. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state     you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so keep in mind that a lot of the rivers here are not suitable for beginners. The wonderful El Dorado County scenery and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water will make you feel great. This is a somewhat short section so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. Silver Creek - South Fork doesn't have a lot of paddling stretches, the Atherton Flat to Ice House Reservoir stretch is the only one. When you're paddling down a Northern Sierra Nevada river like this one you always get great scenery along the way too.
