If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so don't forget that many of the sections here are not safe for beginners. This stretch has has enough mileage, it's perfect for a one day trip. The put-in location is a short drive from Modesto, as you can see on the road map further down. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this is an area with not too many other rivers for that. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground.
