  The Sand Bar Flat Dam to Camp 9 Powerhouse stretch of Stanislaus River - Middle Fork in California is 14 miles long and is a class IV-V+ section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in California is often more difficult than elsewhere, so keep in mind that rivers here are not as easy as elsewhere. The beautiful scenery of California and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream will make you feel great. If you hurry you can run this stretch in a day but why not make it an overnighter, so go ahead
    and pack your sleeping bag. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. This river system is full of great paddling stretches, the Sand Bar Flat Dam to Camp 9 Powerhouse stretch is just one of them. Getting a good workout and just hanging out with mother nature will make you glad
you came. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way there are lots of good rivers for that around here. The beautiful Central Sierra Nevada scenery is an added bonus.
