The starting point is not too far from Clearlake, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. This stretch of Stony Creek in California is 5 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class III-IV section. If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more demanding, so keep in mind that a lot of the rivers here are not suitable for beginners. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just being out on the river for a while are sure to keep you coming back for
more. There are some good stretches to paddle in this river system, the Mill Creek to Diversion Dam stretch is one of them. The campgrounds here at Stony Creek are pretty good. This is a pretty decent length section, it's good length for a morning trip. The river winds through
the Klamath Mountains and you get great scenery. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. The wonderful California scenery and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water have people coming here. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this area has a large number of paddling rivers.

is a delightful local attraction. Just can't get enough of the Klamath Mountains. Don't leave Stony Creek without first going for a hike along the Bathhouse Trail. The amount of rainfall that falls at Stony Creek is close to the national average; through January this area sees
the most rain, and the driest month of the year is July. Through the warmest time of the year at Stony Creek highs are typically in the 90's. Throughout the moonlight hours it's mostly in the 50's. Highs during the wintertime are ordinarily in the 50's with temperatures at Stony Creek dipping down into the 30's all through winter nights.
